Ferryland Lighthouse Ferryland Newfoundland

Winter Hike To The Ferryland Lighthouse

Driving into Ferryland we spotted our first coastline, we had to stop to take some photos. The shoreline was amazing with it’s diverse rock formations. The walk to the Ferryland lighthouse is only about 25 minutes. We were there for 4 hours, taking photos of this spectacular coastline, which we were surrounded by, and to just take in the view. The lighthouse could be seen in the distance, and what a sight it was. It was built in 1870, and still stands in all its glory. The lighthouse stands high atop this golden ridge of grasses, and trailing juniper. The coastline stretches out towards the ocean, and the waves splash up toward the cliffs edge. As the sun begins to set we head out on our journey back home.
