Grates Cove Rock Walls Grates Cove Newfoundland

Winter Hike

Grates Cove, a little historic community, with beautiful coastlines, stunning views, and an abundance of Rock Walls to explore. These rock walls that expand almost 150 acres, were erected to create gardens, fields, and to keep livestock out. What a feat that would have been! We were lucky enough to have spotted an eagle along the way, and learn of the eagle nest path. The nest, made of stone, was pretty neat, we took an opportunity to take a photo with the two of us in it, what a view! We thoroughly enjoyed the hike, uncovering little gems along the way, and discovering the magnitude of these rock walls.
